Jest wiele możliwych przyczyn gorączki o nieustalonej etiologii. W większości przypadków jest to nietypowy obraz częstej choroby, a nie rzadkie schorzenie. Kluczem do ustalenia rozpoznania są szczegółowe wywiady oraz uważne, powtarzane badanie przedmiotowe i celowane badania dignostyczne.
