Pomijając korzyści niewymierne (choć też ważne), realizacja celów zawartych w punktach 1 i 2 winna przynieść wymierny efekt ekonomiczny. Wynika to z faktu, że – według obecnych szacunków – przy średnim wieku ofiar wypadków wynoszącym około 40 lat, urazy powodują rocznie w Polsce stratę około 300 tys. lat życia (czyli każdy z nas traci średnio 5 dni) i 500 tys. lat pracy.
