Abstract
The AHA guidelines for periprocedural management and standards of care for patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices
The American Heart Association (AHA) has recently updated the standards for multidisciplinary, periprocedural management of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). The new guidelines are considered essential due to the ongoing technological development and the constantly growing number of patients with CIEDs. This paper provides a general overview of the new guidelines and is addressed to all healthcare professionals. The main objective is to minimize the risk of periprocedural complications, severe cardiac arrhythmias or hemodynamic instability.
